The Marketplace
The Marketplace
How the Marketplace works on Project Ragnarok Online: what must be sold there, the listing fee, the Zeny tax, and the terms of the real-money market.
What has to be sold here
Ordinary loot moves by vending, trade and mail. The valuable things move through the Marketplace only, where every sale is public, priced and recorded.
| Cards | Every card. |
|---|---|
| Costumes | Every costume that can change hands at all. |
| Carded equipment | Any piece of equipment with a card in it. |
| Over-refined equipment | Anything refined past its safe limit. |
| Slotted armour | Every slotted armour piece, shields, garments, shoes, headgear and accessories included. A slotted weapon stays ordinary until it is carded or over-refined. |
| Stat headgear | Headgear that carries stats of its own from our additions, and the pieces that can be given a slot by Socket Enchant. |
| Boss drops | Equipment dropped by an MVP or mini boss that lives in the world right now. |
These cannot be dropped, traded, mailed, vended or put in guild storage, with or without a Trade Pass. The list grows by itself as episodes open.
How to sell and buy
| Where | The Registrar is Harriet, Prontera 145,172. The brokers stand beside her, one per kind of item: Gelka (weapon), Hucke (armor), Maggi (headgear), Lunain (card), Spica (costume). |
|---|---|
| You need | An active Trade Pass to list an item or to buy one. Browsing is free. |
| Listing | Hand the item to the Registrar and name a fixed price. There is no bidding: the first buyer to pay the price gets it. The price cannot go below a floor the Marketplace works out for that item. |
| Listing fee | 10% of your asking price, paid up front and not refunded, sold or not. |
| How long it stays | Up to 6 hours. An unsold item is mailed back to you after that. |
| Slots | Each broker shows 12 listings at a time. When a broker is full, your listing waits in line and goes up as soon as a slot frees. |
| Delivery | By mail, to buyer and seller, online or not. |
| Zeny tax | The buyer pays your full price and you receive 70% of it. The other 30% is removed from the game. |
The Zeny tax
Zeny that changes hands is taxed 30%. The payer pays the full amount and the receiver gets the rest; the taxed part is destroyed, not kept by anyone. It applies to vending sales, trades, mailed Zeny, Marketplace sales and what an NPC pays you for loot.
It exists to keep Zeny scarce on a 1x server. It also applies to Zeny bought on the RMT Marketplace. Price your shop with it in mind.
Dalle, the fence
Duplicate costumes from the Monthly Costume Package go to Dalle in Prontera: one Monthly Package Token per costume, for a fee of 50,000 Zeny each. Only Normal, Common and Rare costumes are accepted, and never your last copy. More in the Cash Shop article.
The RMT Marketplace
Selling items or Zeny for real money is allowed in one place only: the RMT Marketplace. The server holds the item, moves the points and records the sale. A real-money deal made anywhere else breaks the rules.
| Where | Bonnie, Prontera 142,177. |
|---|---|
| RMT Points | 1 RMT Point is 1 peso. Points are added by staff after a top-up by GCash or bank transfer, not PayPal. How top-ups work |
| You need | An active Trade Pass to list or to buy. |
| Asking price | From 1,000 to 500,000 points. |
| Listing fee | 1,000 Zeny per point asked, paid up front and not refunded. |
| Commission | 12% of the sale, taken from the seller's points. |
| Who can list | An account at least 72 hours old, on a character that has reached its second job. |
| What can be listed | Marketplace items and Zeny lots. Nothing bought in the Cash Shop can be listed. |
| Zeny lots | A seller can list a lot of 10 million, 50 million, 100 million Zeny. The buyer gets it by mail and the 30% Zeny tax is taken when it is collected, so those lots deliver 7 million, 35 million, 70 million. The lowest asking price is 50 points per 10 million. An account can sell or list at most 200 million Zeny in any 7 days, and 4 of the broker's 12 slots can hold Zeny at a time. An unsold lot comes back untaxed. |
| Cashing out | From 1,000 points, through a Discord ticket. Points must be 72 hours old before they can be withdrawn. |
| Points to Cash Points | RMT Points can be turned into Cash Points at 10 CP per point. It is one way: Cash Points never turn back into RMT Points or money. |
